Match report A first loss of the season in our first league game for the Sunday 1st Team. Losing the toss we started perfectly with Max taking a wicket off his first ball. Things turned pretty sour for then on and the oppo, courtesy of another clubs overseas player, were soon 100-1 off about 12 overs. Charlie was introduced and soon bought some control along with some defensive fields and we managed to make some timely breakthroughs. Charlie bowling well for 3-22 off 7, ably supported by Tommy W and Jonny who shared a wicket each. Teddy nipping in at the end with a 3fer. Overall we kept our heads up, caught and fielded well and restricted Colchester to 249-9 off 40.

Our innings got off to a terrible start, overseas took the new ball as well and we were quickly 4 down with James, Freddie, Vinny and Charlie back in the marquee. Aarav playing with absolute ease at the other end. Aarav and Swanny (27) formed a useful partnership until the latter was caught by (yeah him), this left Jonny (28) and Aarav to continue building the innings. These two got us to 160-5 when Jonny fell. From there we fell to 173 a/o with (yeah him) returning to claim a 5 wicket haul.
