‘I can't imagine a Parent hearing me speak today would want their Child to go anywhere near cricket’
AZEEM RAFIQ
Many of you will be aware of the recent and shocking events surrounding the game we all love so much.
As the Club Safeguarding Officer I would have no hesitation allowing any child to play cricket at Springfield CC knowing all the safeguarding policies we have in place.
We are a Clubmark Focus Club and adhere to all safeguarding policies set out by the England Wales Cricket Board.
All of our club officials have up to date DBS certificates and myself & Paddy have recently completed our Safe Hands course.
I have to attend Safeguarding courses every 3 years to ensure my position.
We have a published Club Safeguarding policy on our website & club notice board
for members to view at any time.
We endeavour to ensure the club is an open, safe and enjoyable place for all our members. Cricket has a fair bit of soul searching to do in the coming weeks and months and must face up to and deal with the issues at hand.
At SCC we will continue to try to create an inclusive, fun and safe environment for all our members but it’s important that if any issue arises you can come and speak to myself (or Paddy) and our committee is committed to making sure everyone can enjoy our wonderful game.
THE SAFETY AND WELLBEING OF YOUR CHILD/OUR YOUNG CRICKETERS IS PARAMOUNT.
We look forward to seeing you in the new year.
