Match report After a win like that I had to resume the reports!
well done everyone for a fantastic win with specially mention, obviously, to Luke, Iestyn and Shan
A swashbuckling 137 off 86 balls (24x4 3x6) from Luke backed up admirably by Iestyns maiden hundred for the seniors getting an unbeaten 113 off 131 balls after going in at No1 ans having a slow shakey start. This included a 2nd wicket parnership with Luke of 224 and a 98 run session with Shan who got a quick 44 not out ouff 23 balls. We reached 354 for 2 off our 45 overs, the highest score of the day in the league and probably the teams highest ever.
And we backed up the excellent batting with a strong performance in the field
After being asked by the skipper to cut down on the drops and wides, we took 5 catches and NO wides - noce to see someone does listen to me!
Shan picked up a 5fer (5-35) supported well by Tony's 3-53 as we closed out their innings with 8 overs to spare at 193 for a massive win by 161 runs
And our first win of the season, in some style!
Thanks to the oppo who ensured the game was played in the right spirit and who at one oint looked like they may start challenging our total.
Man of the Match award - with his first century for the club, and for the way be achieved it, is Iestyn - congratulations!
