Springfield Cricket Club Sunday II v North Weald on Sun 12 May 2013 at 1.30
Springfield Cricket Club Won 1 wicket

Match report Another fine win and another fine game against our old friends
North Weald who again provided a great game in the rain, and after in the bar. Thanks guys, always welcome and MAYBE see you on the 21st July!!
A great opening spell from Ashusrt (8-4-13-4) saw us off to a racing start including getting the nudging and nerddling nemasis who is Vinny early. Young Jamie Trim returned an excellent set of figures (5-2-8-0) to keep the pressure on and earns his place in the league team next week. Well done young fella!
Brother and Sister act "The Powells" (not an 80's pop combo)closed out the innings but the younger let himself (herself) down with a weak and limp effort for a catch. He has now been relagated to the firsts next week, and Bryn will have another trial for the 2's soon. (keep working mate)
The visitors then managed to add to the total and make it a competitive game with Carlo ("No Ball") Ginn adding an unbeaten 36
We started badly with Bryn showing the first team class again and getting out early (as i said, keep working mate and try for the 2's again later). Skipper came in looking for his first runs of the season and promptly smashed the bowling hither and nither before holing out to mid off off of (of off offfff) probably the worst ball ever bowled (not just by the bowler George but ever at the Corra). At least George had the decency to appologise before the skip's bat was remoulded around his fair locks.
Anyway, back to the game
Garfield Nightingale again held the team together and despite a mid order collapes of Gothic proportions Chalky came to the rescue (of the 1st teams reputation mainly) and scored a confidnet 50 before retiring only to return post collapse to see us through with Ian knocking off 23 unbeaten runs to see us over the finish line with a great example of a captains innings (yes i have taken note)
Great day and thanks to all that played
Man of the match has to be that little short (slightly rotund) Aussie Chalky
Well done Bruce
