Match report This was a meeting between the teams occupying first and second places in the league so both sides were very much up for the contest.

Having been invited to bat Wickham showed their intent as the top order all went for some big shots, and when the ball sailed out of the ground only to land on the distant railway track a score of 200 plus looked on the cards.

However, steady bowling by Sam and two catches and a stumping by Steve restricted the home side to a hard earned 127 in 43 overs.

Batting second on a drying surface could have proved tricky, so Fran and Andy had to be watchful to keep their wickets intact.

An excellent fifty from Andy; solid contributions by Fran amd Matt Cook; and a flurry of consecutiue fours by Steve to end the game, finally saw us home by seven wickets.
