Match report This was a contest between the Division's two unbeaten teams with top spot the prize for the winners.

A good toss to win for Great Baddow resulted in us being asked to bat on a soft track under grey skies, and despite a well constructed 30 by James we struggled against the teasing flight of Pannel who took 3 for 22 from 12 accurate overs and had us wobbling precariously at 41 for 4.

The scene was thus set for the entrance of our rising star batsman Chay who joined Martin at the wicket and went on to score an excellent 59 not out as the partnership realised 130 runs taking the total to 171/4 after 45 overs. Martin contributing 61 not out.

A competitive total began to look formidable as Anthony took two wickets with the first two balls of Great Baddow's reply. Superb bowling by Anthony was rewarded with four early wickets for sixteen runs as Ian performed tirelessly at the other end. However, and not to be outdone, Ian weighed in with four wickets of his own for twenty-nine runs, and with Iestyn taking two for four, Great Baddow were reduced to 49 all out.

A brilliant win by 122 runs against a very sporting opposition keeps the 4's in top spot after six games in the knowledge that stern tests lie ahead.
