Match report Saturday arrived with the visit of the very dangerous Chignal who had done the double over us last year, and with the boys fired up after last weeks poor performance we stuck our oppo in. This initially looked a mistake as their openers set about at 6 an over, but the early introduction of Dancey removed the very talented Sheikh and along with Mazza, bowling tirelessly up the hill into a gale (he is built for it these days!!) we began to get their innings into check.

The introduction of new signing Brooksy from way up't north bowling with beautiful control and variation began to strangle them further and his 4-30 off 12 was a pleasure to watch and along with Si taking 3-43 we managed to restrict them to 200 all out.

Following a slightly longer tea break than normal due to a truly magnificent spread from Mrs Clark, our innings got of to the worst possible start losing Curtis to a touch and go waist-high delivery, but Lats returning after exams joined Clarky and set about setting up the chase. However two quick wickets and a third superb spell of spinning in the match from Faz Rahman saw the run rate begin to mount.

Ali came and went for a quickfire 20 and when Lighters joined me 5 down we still needed 80 odd runs with 13 overs left. In years gone by I think our inexperience could have shown but despite a shaky start Neil battled through it and we set about waiting for the bad ball and running extremely hard and by playing pretty risk free cricket got home with an over to go, lighters unbeaten on 23 and myself 76.

A very good win under pressure and well done everyone
