Dear Members,
Springfield Cricket Club - 2026 Season Review & Awards
As the 2026 cricket season comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to look back on what has been another brilliant year for Springfield Cricket Club.
There have been plenty of runs, wickets, wins, losses, laughs, new players, new teams and, most importantly, lots of people enjoying their cricket.
From our youngest Development Colts picking up the basics of the game, through our Colts age groups, our new girls section, women's cricket, T20 cricket and all five senior sides, there has been so much to celebrate.
We also came together for our Adult Awards Night and Colts Awards Evening to recognise some of the fantastic performances and contributions throughout the season.

Development Colts
A big part of our Colts section this year has been our Development Colts.
For our youngest players, it has been all about learning how to play cricket in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment - learning how to use the bat and ball, understanding the basics, trying new skills and, most importantly, enjoying the game.
It has been brilliant to see their confidence and enthusiasm grow throughout the season, and we are really looking forward to seeing them continue to learn and progress through the Colts age groups.
Girls Cricket
This year also saw the start of something really exciting at Springfield - our new girls section.
With over 25 girls getting involved, there has been some brilliant progress, plenty of effort and lots of enthusiasm from everyone involved.
For many of the girls, this has been their first experience of cricket, and it has been fantastic to watch them learn, develop their skills and enjoy themselves along the way.
A huge thank you to the girls, coaches, parents and everyone who has helped get the section up and running.
This is only the beginning, and we can't wait to see how the girls section continues to grow in the years ahead.
Thank You
While it is always nice to celebrate the award winners and individual performances, none of this happens without the wider Springfield Cricket Club family.
A huge thank you to every player who has represented the club this season, from our Development Colts through to our senior sides.
Thank you to our coaches, captains, managers, volunteers, scorers, umpires, parents, supporters and everyone who has given up their time throughout the year.
Thank you to those who have helped behind the scenes, organised matches and events, prepared the ground, supported our teams, helped with fundraising and simply turned up to cheer everyone on.
Springfield is much more than just the cricket played on a Saturday or Sunday. It is the people who make the club what it is.
There have been plenty of challenges along the way, not least the British weather doing its best to ruin a few Saturdays, but there have also been some brilliant moments and memories made.
With our Development Colts continuing to grow, our new girls section getting started and so many young players progressing through the age groups, the future of Springfield Cricket Club is looking very exciting.
Congratulations once again to all of our award winners, and a huge well done to everyone who played their part in the 2026 season.
We can't wait to see what 2027 brings.
Up the Springers!
