End of Season Message from the Chairman

16 Sep 2019

Having finally completed the NECL Sunday season, and becoming the Division 2 champions thanks to our massive win over second place Kelvedon yesterday, I just wanted to send out a massive WELL DONE to all our teams across all age groups including our colts section and up to old codgers like myself! (a season double champion I might add!)

Our win yesterday made it 4 senior championship wins from our 7 senior teams and the most successful season the club as ever had. The Saturday 1st, 4th and 5th teams all winning their respective leagues, 2nd and 3rd teams also contributing with solid season finishes. Big shout out to our young players, raging from 12 - 18 that made their senior debuts this season in the 5s and then going on to win the league with a game to spare. Couple that with the excellent achievements across our colt sections I think its great to see that the club has a bright and trophy loaded future

None of the above would be possible without the support of many people working hard in the background to give the players the best possible chance to play and enjoy, these include my fellow committee members, bar workers and of course mums, dads and partners who do teas or simply support from the boundary. Big thanks to you all, you are all part of the clubs success.

Next season could see some changes for some of the teams with more challenges to face but we progress as a club and go out next season on the front foot, as is the SCC way.

Please keep your eyes open for close season events. We start with the annual Balkan Bast tour to Serbia next week, followed by the Chairmans Charity Quiz Night in October. We will also do the Club Christmas Dinner later in the year.

Well done again to you all, pat yourselves on the back and stand proud!
