Springfield Cricket Club News story

*****SCC 2019 Notices and Social Events*****

28 Jan 2019

Hi all, we hope you all had a great festive break and your New Year's resolutions are still intact.

The run up to the new season is well underway with winter nets starting a couple of weeks ago. Development (6-7pm) & U9s/11s (7-8pm) are on a Friday night at Boswells, the U13s/15s/16s are at KEGS on a Tuesday evening (6.15-7.45pm). Alison her team signed up over 50 kids last Saturday but that obviously leaves a large amount of children who have still to fill out the registration form for this year. Please if you haven't already get this done in the coming weeks at training, (This relates to all U18s)

Senior nets are also underway on a Sunday lunchtime (12-1.30pm) at KEGS, all year 9s and upwards are welcome to join us, it’s a great opportunity to come and knock over some first teamers and impress the senior skippers before the season starts!

Senior subs are also now due, they remain at a very competitive £30 as long as you pay them by April 1st, BACS, Springfield CC, Acc no.70863742; s/c  20 19 95 (leave reference) alternatively you can pass the subs onto myself (Jim) or Lambo at nets or the clubhouse.

There have been a few notable changes over the winter with TJ & Patters stepping down from the committee after a combined 40 odd years of service in various roles, many thanks to them for all their hard work over the years and good luck to Paul Durrant & James Gooday in their new roles as Chairman & Secretary. All the senior skippers remain in place from last year but we also welcome Richard Trim into fray as the new Saturday 5th team skipper after they were successfully voted into the league at the AGM back in November.

We have now set out some dates for your social diaries, all details are listed below. As usual these events are open to all members and friends and family and have in the past proved successful so please get them in your diaries and we look forward to seeing you up the ‘Corra’ soon.

Any proceeds raised after costs (if any) will be donated to Farleigh Hospice
