Match report A flying start to the new season as we entertained newly promoted Stock at the Corra. With no rain in the best part of a month and the outfield resembling the Mohave Desert the clouds began to darken in anticipation of some cricket being played but fortunately a brisk wind kept the showers blowing around us. On winning the toss we stuck a young oppo. batting line up in to face the music and managed to skittle them in just 20 odd overs, only really Cole offering any resistance to tidy spells from Mazza, Brooksy, Si and the pick, Ali who's short, sharp burst (3-19) ripped out their middle order.
Despite losing Lats to an early 'LBW' Ali (44)(who promises me a bit of restraint in his batting this year!) got our innings off the mark with an enormous 6 over mid-wicket and along with Chalky and Charlie saw us home to a comfortable 8 wicket win and maximum 26 points.
Congratulations also to Northy on his first league 100 and Sam Brown and Matty Hartley on picking up 6 and 5 wicket hauls respectively as all 4 league sides won their opening fixtures and a big well done Lats on smashing someone's not very long standing club record with an incredible 244* on Monday against High Easter, sob!
