Match report A fine start to the new league era!
Fantastic ground and wicket and friendly opposition saw the start of our league adventure off in the perfect way.
Asked to field by the opposition after loosing the toss (again) Copdock got off to a strong start using Charlies pace to flick and edge through the slips and down to 3rd man.
2 wickets were taken in quick succession to stem the tide and a great spell of 20 overs from Iestyn and Tony put the brakes firmly on.
The good doctor then chipped in with his left arm trundlers and on his league debut Shan (Murali) grabbed a fantastic 4-32 to close the 45 overs on 220
Charlie then showed his class witha quite brilliant 114 (a pleasure to watch) well supported by Iestyn before Shan then capped his debut with an unbeaten 50 including 3 4s in 3 balls to finsh the game.
Well done everyone, a great start lets keep that going
As for man of the match, on any normal day Shan would have walked off with it without question but the award has to go to Charlie for the quality of his innings backed up by a useful spell with the ball and some excellent fielding. Well done Charlie, keep this up and you will get in the 2s every week!!
