Match report Another damp squib and another toss won, our visitors inserted and soon in trouble as tight bowling and fielding restricted early runs. The introduction of returning Josh(4-44) and Brooksy (4-21) got the wicket ball rolling and Roding were all out for 123.
However batting conditions were still very difficult and we were soon in serious trouble at 90-8. At this point Josh joined Cadman (on debut) and sensibly started knocking the total with good running and the occasional lusty biff. with 6 needed the mother of all mix ups saw Josh run out and with Caddie visibly upset at the non strikers end out strode our rarely reliable no. 11, a man who boosts 15+ tons back in his day (decades ago), who now resembles more of a wicket on legs!! As the team held its breath the Roding bowler charitably chucked one down leg side for a wide and a bye, 4 needed. The shout came out... just back yourself biggun!!! and Cad duly did... WALLOP through the covers like a tracer bullet and a thoroughly nerve destroying 1 wicket win was secured. In the dressing room the celebrations were under way when Caddie got back in to reveal that he was still fairly emotional and i must say i'm 80% sure we saw a few tears, fantastic innings and finish and well done ya big soppy Galah!
