CLUB NEWS |
We have been confirmed as an England and Wales Cricket Board Clubmark Focus Club, which confirms our commitment to being a safe, effective and child friendly cricket club. |
We have also been awarded an Awards For All Grant of £4,800 from Sport England, who distribute Lottery Funds |
Trevor Johnson, Club Chairman, stated that this award will give us the
opportunity to satisfy the current demand for children in our local
community for cricket coaching, it will also improve our facilities to
coach children with disabilities and to add to the 14 England &
Wales Cricket Board Coaches that we currently have, building to further
the Centre of Excellence for Colt Cricket at Springfield Cricket Club.
Currently our club is coaching cricket for over 130 children at the indoor nets at The Boswells School every Friday from 6pm to 9pm. We would like to thank Sports Development at Chelmsford Borough Council and the Cricket Development Team at Essex County Cricket Board for their help in compiling our application. Springfield Cricket Club is set in the heart of its Local Community, working in conjunction with Chelmsford Borough Council, Local Schools and Essex County Cricket Board, truly a Cricket Club for all.
