Match report With the promise of rain and the visit of bottom of the league club Gt Totham it was a good toss to win and despite it looking a good pitch we put them in to bat. Mazza bowled possibly his best spell in a Springfield shirt and recorded the MoM figures of 6-19 off 12, this was backed up with some good fielding (apart from a dropped catch at slip which denied Ben a hat-trick, oops sorry bud!!!!!) and with Brooksy again tying the lower order in knots (4-4 off 6) we were able to dismiss our oppo for just 74 in not much more than 26 overs. With the sky darkening all the time and tea not yet ready we decided to blast our way home quickly but as per usual lost early wickets and before we could blink were in trouble again. Finally a couple of cool heads were found in Clarky and for the second week in a row Mani and we limped across the line. Just 10 minutes later the heavens opened and our 26 points gained looked good enough to have sealed our first league title in 11 years, however across town at lawford lane High Roding were knocking off the OC's target to keep the chase on until the last week. 26 clear, one game left....Roll on our trip to Roding next week, roll on!!!
