Match report Week 7 saw us entertaining St Andrews at Coronation Park where a win would keep the 4's atop the table.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat reflected a positive approach by the visitors whose recent results suggest they also possess a strong bowling unit having dismissed their opposition for just 22 the previous week.

Undaunted by our opponent's optimism, the opening attack of Anthony and Ian took four early wickets, two apiece, to deny St Andrews a good start. S Levi attempted to rally the visitors with a powerfully struck 28, but Iestyn with four wickets and Martin with two wickets tidied up the middle order amd tail to leave St Andrews 59 all out.

The Springfield reply commenced before tea and a patient 15 from Andy gave us a steady start against arguably the best attack we have faced so far this season. Despite the loss of a couple of wickets either side of the tea interval, courtesy of G Street's 3 for 31, some well timed boundaries by Luke, Matt and Bryn saw us home to victory by 6 wickets.

An excellent result for the 4's who face top three opposition by way of Eastwood 3's away next Saturday
