Hi all
Our man in the East, Rus Jones, has just announced the details of next years Balkan Bash T20 competition, this is the trophy we couldnt defend this year but want to make a big effort to get it back in 2019.To that end we wanted to get this out to you as early as possible so flights can be booked while relatively cheaper. The details are as follows:
Venue: The historic and beautiful city of Belgrade in Serbia, one we have yet to visit on out previous tours
Dates: 26th -28th September 2019 (although the best flights are from Luton via WizzAir on 24th-29th)
Format: As usual it will be a T20 competition with an estimated 8 teams from all over Europe and expected to be a good standard so we need our best players! So far Vinos from Prague, Incogs (current holders), Montenegro, Belgrade and the brilliantly named Cambridge to Casablanca Cycling Cricket Club have all confirmed and indeed started booking flights
Estimated Costs: Flights are currently approx £130 return but if we get a large number we will try and see if a group booking can bring that down. Hotels (4*) are around £30pppn. Russell will get these sorted when we have numbers or you can go it alone if wanted
Who can come? Anyone and everyone is welcome, from first teamers to my Sunday boys, colts, friends and families. All players will get plenty of game time especially those that dont drink (covering for those that may be less "fit" some days!) We also welcome and encourage non players to come and support, sight see or help the Lambo Party find the ground each day!
What Next: I am away for a week or so but we do need to get the ball rolling so if you can advise me or Russell asap, details below, that would be great. We want to make this a full a proper tour as we have not done one for a few years and we have a lot of virgin tourers that need to be introduced to international cricket and all that goes with it!
it should be a great long weekend in a fabulous part of the world, oh and some good cricket too!
