COLTS


		Springfield Cricket Club has supported organised junior cricket since 1970 and has a long record of producing senior players through the club's junior section. There are over 120 registered young players, aged between eight and fifteen. A small number of girls have started to participate, and the club will continue to encourage this.
		Junior teams play in the central Essex Junior League at under 11, under 13, and under 15 levels.
		The more advanced young players are nominated for trials for both the County and Central Essex District representative sides.
		The junior section is overseen by a colts Manager, Patrick O'Riordan, who is supported by eight coaches. These are all qualified at ECB level one award. During 2001 four of the coaches attended National Coaching Foundation courses on 'Coaching and the Law' and 'Working with Disabled People'. In 2002 four coaches attended the NCF course on 'Good Practice and Child Protection'.

		Colts U15 and U13 practice night is Wednesday 6.00 to 7.30 at Coronation Park
		Colts U11 and starters practice night on Tuesday 6.00 to 7.30 at Coronation Park

		Matchplay practice night on Monday at 6.00
